Excalibur II is suitable for underwater and on land gold prospecting thanks to its Multi-Frequency technology, which includes a range of 17 frequencies.

How deep into soil can this detect?
The short answer is that there are many variables that can affect the depth of metal is detected. VLF (very low frequency) hobby detectors can detect various depths depending on the ground conditions and target size. However, it is known that the size of the coil is usually how deep it will detect. For example, if you have got a 10-inch coil just like the Excalibur II, it will typically detect at a depth of 10 inches.

How well does the Excalibur perform on land as well as underwater? As I am hoping that I can use it there as well. I currently own a Garrett AT Pro and a Whites Beach Hunter but I'm hoping to have this would be like combining them both.
The Excalibur II is an all-round detector and has primarily been designed to be a beach machine. People do tend to use it on land occasionaly but it's not common. It will definitely find targets for sure but this is mostly used as a beach detector. Do you plan to use it a lot for land? If so check out the Minelab CTX 3030 Metal Detector with Wireless Headphones as a possible alternative that will be your best option as it performs excellently on both the beach and inland as well.
