Nokta's First Pulse Induction Machine
After more than 20 years of producing VLF and SMF metal detectors, Nokta's first pulse induction (PI) metal detector, the Magnetar 9000, is a flagship entry into serious gold prospecting.
Active Magnetic Sensor (AMS), Dual-Receiver Coil (DRC), and improved PI are its primary technologies. Traditional VLF detectors struggle in heavily mineralized earth, but the combo finds deep gold and sub-gram nuggets. It comes with two DRC search coils, two batteries, Bluetooth headphones, and a comprehensive field accessory box. The detector is submersible to 10 ft (3 m) and features a telescoping carbon-fiber shaft.

The Nokta Magnetar 9000 is designed to locate tiny nuggets and deep gold in hard mineralized terrain. Strong depth, quick reaction, and steady performance under challenging circumstances are provided by its dual-receiver coils and sophisticated pulse induction platform.
Powerful Pulse Induction Machine
Short, powerful current pulses are sent through the search coil by pulse induction, which then measure the decay signal that conductive targets return. Ground mineralization has no effect on PI devices, in contrast to single- or multi-frequency VLF detectors. In areas where VLF detectors lose depth and stability, such as iron-rich soils, heated rocks, black sand, and saltwater beaches, they are the norm for prospecting.
The Magnetar 9000 is powered by Nokta's Advanced Pulse Induction platform with auto noise cancellation, which automatically chooses the cleanest channel after scanning the working environment for electromagnetic interference.

Dual-Receiver Coil (DRC)
The DRC system provides the Magnetar 9000 with two receiving channels in parallel from a single search coil. This enables the detector to have a distinct target response in two sensitivity ranges simultaneously. It detects small, low-conductivity targets, such as micro-nuggets, without reducing detection depth on bigger, deeper targets.
It’s a standard trade-off in PI design: machines designed for depth on larger targets generally lose sensitivity to sub-gram gold, while machines optimized for micro-nuggets sacrifice depth on bigger targets. DRC handles both without coil changing or a second machine.

Shaft and Weight
The telescopic carbon fiber shaft has three sections that can be transported by extending to 59" (150 cm) and collapsing to 28" (72 cm). When the 11" coil and battery are installed, the detector weighs 5.3 pounds (2.4 kg); when the 14.5" coil is installed, it weighs 6.2 pounds (2.8 kg). Carbon fiber maintains rigidity and reduces weight, which is important while swinging for extended periods of time.
